Limited Life Time Warranty for The Stitch Room Services and Products

Custom Window Treatments Warranty

The Stitch Room custom fabric treatments are guaranteed to be free from fabrication defects for the life of the product provided the product is not incorrectly used and is owned by the original purchaser. This warranty is limited to the repair of The Stitch Room’s manufactured products. The Stitch Room maintains the right to determine whether the defect is covered by the warranty and how the fabrication defect will be corrected. Repairs will only be made to meet original specifications of the contract. This warranty does not include conditions or damage resulting from normal wear and tear, sun damage, misuse or abuse, improper cleaning, reinstallation (other than The Stitch Room) or the application of chemicals. Nor does this warranty include collateral cost such as installation by a third party not represented by The Stitch Room, shipping or maintenance of any product.

If client discovers any fabrication defects concerning The Stitch Room products, please contact The Stitch Room within thirty days from the date of product installation. This warranty only applies to request for repair of fabrication defects that are made with in thirty days from the date of product installation. If a fabrication defect is not made within thirty days, The Stitch Room will not be responsible for the fabrication defect repair and will not be liable for any further damage to customers’ furnishings and/or the window treatment(s) in question.

Drapery Hardware Warranty

The Stitch Room offers a one year warranty on drapery hardware parts and products resold by The Stitch Room. The warranty is valid for one full year from the date of invoice. Warranty does not cover mechanical breakage or damage caused by improper installation or use. Installation costs may apply for any hardware exchange or replacement. A detailed estimate will be provided for all hardware exchanges or replacements listing any charges that may apply outside the warranty hardware.

Hard Window Treatments Warranties

The Stitch Room offers a one year warranty on parts and labor for products resold by The Stitch Room. The warranty is valid for one full year from the date of invoice. After one year from the date of invoice, standard factory warranties will apply to all resold products, including current market rates for service and repairs. Please contact The Stitch Room for more information on specific products or factory warranties. Repairs will be made on-site whenever possible. If necessary, The Stitch Room reserves the right to repair the product at our facility or any of our vendor facilities. The Stitch Room will make every effort to repair and reinstall the warranted product in a timely fashion. Any labor outside of the warranty period will be provided at a detailed estimated listing all charges for the repair, plus any non warranty parts and materials.

Bed Coverings, Pillows, Throws, Cushions and Table Runners

Motorization

The Stitch Room offers a one-year warranty on parts and labor for all electric motors and electric components. The Stitch Room does not warranty any electric motors or electrical components beyond the original manufacturer’s warranties exceeding one year from the original order date. All of The Stitch Room’s vendors provide varying warranties on their products. For more information on specific vendor warranties and products, please contact The Stitch Room as they are available upon request.

Wiring

The Stitch Room offers no wiring services. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the selected electrical contractor is licensed. The Stitch Room is not a licensed electrical contractor and is only providing the pre-wiring guidelines as a courtesy from our vendor. Therefore, The Stitch Room is not responsible for any wiring errors found in the pre-wiring guidelines and/or errors performed by the customer’s electrical contractor, including the positioning of the junction boxes or connections to the motor, which may cause damage to the home or motors.

Textiles

Fabrics have inherent characteristics that are out of The Stitch Room’s control (i.e., stretching, stiffness, hiking, flaring, dye lots, back light shadows and imperfections). Be aware that no fabric is completely stable and there should be tolerance for small fluctuations in drapery and shade lengths. Window Covering Association of America (“WCAA”) standards for manufactured draperies is up to 1/2″ of variation from tabled measure. Tabled measure is defined as fabric measured as it lies on a table without stress or constrictions. Drapery fabrics (due to yarn contents, construction, humidity, etc.) will expand or contract under certain atmospheric conditions.

Fading

The Stitch Room does not warranty any window treatments from fading. Please consult with your fabric sales person before purchasing customer’s own fabrics. Colored linings supplied by The Stitch Room are made to industry standards and are also subject to fading.

Leather

Warranty does not cover natural markings or color changes caused by body oils or soil or damage caused by pets. Our leathers are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects, seam slippage, dye transfer, and splitting for one year. Any retailer- or customer-applied stain protection treatment voids this warranty.

Fabric Backlighting

Fabrics may change in appearance when sun light is directed from the back side of the fabric. We recommend you place the fabric sample in the same light as your final application to determine true appearance.

Final Design/Application

The Stitch Room will not be responsible for the cost of a new window treatment and/or fabric, or other collateral expenses, should the customer not be satisfied with their window treatments and/or fabric selection due to appearance of the final design and/or other variations beyond The Stitch Room’s control. Accordingly, please consult with your sales representative for specific variations before purchasing fabrics and overall design of your custom project.

Foam/Replacement Inserts

The Stitch Room offers a one year warranty on all foam orders. Warranty does not cover loss of resilience, loft, or crown. Cushions may compress up to 1” within the first year. Fluff all semi-attached back pillows and fluff and rotate all loose back pillows.

The Stitch Room warrants to the original purchaser that any upholstery product purchased from us will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for one year from the date of receipt by the customer. A Workmanship Warranty is extended for a period of ten (10) years for the upholstery work undertaken. Seam slippage, stitching, zippers, attachment (tacking, stapling) are included subject to normal usage of the item. The Stitch Room sole obligation under this warranty is repair or replacement, at our discretion or as otherwise agreed with you, of any part or parts covered by this warranty and found to be defective. Moving damage is excluded.

*Upholstery warranty does not apply when:

  • Any claim is the result of negligence, misuse, alteration, improper cleaning or care, accidents or normal wear.
  • The product has been moved from the address on the original invoice, or has been repaired by the purchaser or anyone else other than The Stitch Room or their authorized representative.
  • The claim concerns the wearing qualities, colorfastness, fading, shrinkage or wrinkling of upholstery fabrics.

All products purchased for commercial use

The item is specifically excluded from warranty as a condition of sale. The item is identified as “As-Is” merchandise.

Delivery Dates

All delivery dates are estimated and subject to arrival of customers selected fabrics, as well as possible back orders from The Stitch Room vendors. The Stitch Room reserves the right to amend estimated delivery dates.

Change Orders

Any changes to an active sales order must be agreed to by both parties and must be changed in writing prior to the beginning of production. Customers must disclose to The Stitch Room changes or additions, such as style, sizes, fabric selection, lining change, etc. prior to the beginning of the order production. Changes will not be made to active sales orders after The Stitch Room commenced order production unless client pays for the cost of associated with requested changes.

Cancellation Policy

Custom made products are not subject to cancellation or returns following 72 hours after the purchase date. All of The Stitch Room’s products are considered to be custom made

Payment Terms

Standard orders, a fifty percent deposit payment is due to activate all orders and balance due upon completion. All completed orders must be paid in-full at time of pickup and prior to all deliveries. Cash or Check On Delivery, payment of the balance due is required prior to installation of the order. For partial or postponed installations due to construction delays, fabric back-orders, client schedule delays, etc., balances will be due for the products that are completed and/or manufactured. Foam/Replacement Foam is paid in full at time of order. Past due balances will be assessed a finance charge of one and a half percent per month. In the event any invoice is not paid when due, and legal action becomes necessary, the prevailing party shall
be entitled to their reasonable attorney fees and court costs. It is expressly agreed that if an invoice is not paid and is referred to a third party for collection, the additional cost will be borne by the customer of The Stitch Room.

Payment Terms

Any valuables or furnishings, such as art, accents, furniture, etc. must be moved out of the installation work area before a recommended The Stitch Room installer arrives for installation. All installers are third parties and experienced installers within the industry. The Stitch Room offers a flat rate service for all check measures, installation services, template services, etc. as listed on your sales receipt.
